Hans-Kristian Kjos Sørensen offers teaching and coaching to professional musicians, students and young talents. Musicians playing other instruments than percussion are also welcome.
Hans-Kristian has a broad experience within a variety of musical styles and he can teach you in
• techniques and interpretation in melodic percussion (marimba, vibraphone, xylophone)
• drum-techniques and interpretation on percussion repertoire
• help to build repertoire within solo, chamber-music and orchestra
• help to prepare for concerts, new grades and auditions
• improvisation
• drum-set, hand-drums, framedrums, brazilian percussion
• Cimbalom (Hungarian type)
Hans-Kristian has a broad international network of contacts and may help you to develop as a musician, understanding the market in classical music.
Hans-Kristian was principal percussionist and timpanist in Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Stavanger Symphony and is today playing with The Norwegian Chamberorchestra. He is soloist with orchestras, playing recitals and is playing chamber-music al over the world. He has recordings on BIS, DG, ECM, Simax and Aurora. HKKS has won numerous prizes a.o. in CIEM in Geneva.
(for more info, please press "ABOUT" in the menu). Hans-Kristian Kjos Sørensen was in 2008 nominated as Professor in percussion in Germany and he holds diplomas from Norwegian State Music Academy and Conservatiore Supérieure de Versailles, France.
Hans-Kristian speaks norwegian, english, french and german.
HKKS has his own studio in Strømmen, Norway, where he has instruments like 5 octave marimbas, vibraphone, timpani, drums, metal & wood.
